Plastics health

Health

Plastics were considered "clean" compounds until the mid 1970s when it was discovered that employees contracted a rare liver cancer when making PVC Plastic.

Waste plastics are chopped to recycle. There has been at least one death in this process, when an employee was killed in the shredding machine.Burning most plastics gives off carcinogenic (cancer causing) fumes.
