Individually
You can do a variety of thimgs on your own. By "doing you bit" you encourage others to have a go. There is no "correct" thing to do. Instead we can do a variety of small thiings, which together can mae a difference.
It may be that doing something like cycling to University each day, not only reduces harmful emissions it may also help you get in shape. Look for opportunities to "kill a few birds" with one stone.
Together
However if you involve a few others you will find you can do much more - influence policies you work/study/exercise.
Try and find ways to measure the improvements, as if you know what improvements you are making, you will feel a greater sense of achievement.
