IMPORTANT NOTICE JUNE 14th 2010
Revised Co-operative Pesticide lists:
We have on the re-vamped lists made some considerable changes especially to the banned list, this was one area historically we had not used our hazard triggers. We have therefore pulled all the pesticides into the co-operative banned list that appear on the PIC (prior informed consent) and POP ( Persistent Organic Pollutants) lists. After consultation with our suppliers and using the data on the EPAW system this allowed us to with confidence place these pesticides in a banned status.
Within our prohibited list those pesticides that were banned previously have been moved to here, also we have changed the number of neo-nics which now sit in prohibited. We have removed Acetamiprid and Thiacloprid because a number of studies have now come to light that show their sub-clinical affect on bees is far less than the other 6 neo-nics. Those two pesticides mentioned are now in the monitored list.
As a reminder the remaining Neo-nics still sit in prohibited they are highlighted in red and bold, but they are only prohibited if the crop that you want to use them on is pollinated by bees, the list of crops pollinated by bees is also in the policy.
Finally, we have classified all the pesticides into their groups by type, which should help when making decisions on using alternatives pesticides.
