Wax/Preservatives (Fresh produce only)

A clear exit strategy for all suppliers of Co-operative brand products must be able to demonstrate the steps that are being taken to eliminate the use of waxes of animal origin (beeswax and shellac) on all fresh produce. Co-operative Group Limited is actively seeking to ban the use of these waxes on all fresh produce, and requires suppliers to advise all production sites to use alternatives where possible.
