FarmworkerMany people believe that working outdoors is healthier than work in a factory. Do you know that if you work on a farm you are more likely to be killed while at work than working anywhere else?

Around 1 per 10,000 farm and horticultural workers are killed each year. That is twice the next worst industry (building) and over three times the rate for murder in London (2.2-2.6 per 100,000 in recent years).

Farmers and other land workers also report more ill health than other industries. Muscle and bone disorders are particularly prevalent in horticulture and fruit & vegetable sectors.
