Promote...

BACK

Each organisation has a slightly different way of presenting themselves. This determines the way you choose to promote your sustainable food.

Some companies will want to shout it from the rooftops, while other organisations may like to just do it because they believe their customers would expect it. This determines how you present your achievements. UK companies tend not to want to publicise too much as it may draw attention to other aspects which they feel less confident about. Whereas European organisations see little point in doing the whole thing unless you are going to tell people about it.

All this influences the way you go about the following:

Communicate with customers

Ask yourself

  • How are you going to advertise what you have done?
  • Who else should I talk with?
  • What are the key messages you want to communicate?

Publicity

Who are you aiming your message at - consumers, employees, stakeholders? Each will have a different need that you should address.

How much can you afford to spend on publicity?

Promote to others

  • Who do you want to know about your progress?
  • Do you want your local community to know?
  • Or would-be suppliers?
  • How are you going to tell your customers?
