Guide to Who's Who in Environmental/SD Skills... | ||
Sector Skills Councils (previously National Training Organisations) are responsible for working out what skills are required for workplaces in their sector (e.g. land, chemical). These are called National Occupational Standards (NOSs). However, most environmental/SD skills should be generic - applicable anywhere. The Sector Skills Development Agency is responsible for overseeing skills development and will be crucial in determining who should develop SD skills. Funding (£7.3 Billion) is through the Learning Skills Council and its 47 local offices guarantee funding of qualifications and will fund awards but are allowed to fund other 'quality' learning. © 2003 EP@W Publishing Co Ltd
