You
can reduce duplication of tasks, by integrating health, environment
and safety into one process. This benefits employees, the
environment and the outside community. You can deal with health
promotion, environmental management and accident prevention
at each step of the process.
One
simplified system can be set up for all instead of integrating
the different and complex systems around safety, quality,
environment, and occupational health.
There
are two key elements for each of the following steps.
|
1.
Involve employees as thoroughly as possible. Workplace
well-being is not achieved by imposing top decisions, but
by meaningful dialogue about what are the priorities for action.
2.
Appoint somebody to become the Implementer, somebody who
can take responsibilities for the day to day running of the
process of integration and who can encourage employees to
become involved.
Then
start to take the seven steps to
improve the health and environment.
