Implement [2]...

 BACK

While you are implement several different programmes to achieve your targets you are doing a balancing act with existing work, people, resources and relationships. There are some people who will consider you are infringing on their work area whilst others see the opportunity to develop new skills.

Take into account what people already do and fit tasks that compliment their existing skills and activities. Check job descriptons to decide what skills there are already in the organisation. Look at the existing relationships at work and get people to work together who already have commonality in either location or similar tasks.

Managers Tasks:

Meet regularly for updates and feedback with those responsible for implementing different parts of your programme. You need a good working relationship with these skilled workers. Asking if everything is going smoothly and getting a 'yes thanks' response is not enough. Get proper progress reports. Assist with any problems arising, give advice, compliment successes and keep your eye on everything! Report to senior management at regular intervals.

Decide who needs some form of training and what training will they need(link to 'sustainable food awareness' course)
You may have included 'Trained staff' as a policy objective with a timetabled target.

Organise short internal training sessions at different levels across the organisation. Look at the information and resources on the site map to help you put together short sessions. Where possible let others access this programme.

Produce explanatory leaflets, for use internally and with customers, suppliers and the media. You may copy infomation from this programme to help convey the issues and what you want people to do. See copyright & licence restrictions.

Relate with external stakeholders. Contact other organisations and stakeholders within your supply chain for help and information. Disseminate what you are doing.
