You will look at the nine main environmental principles. You are expected to see how each of these principles of environmental protection
reduces impacts, and recognise them in action at work.

They are arranged in an order that reflects their relation to the work process.

The Precautionary Principle questions whether the process should be present, Cleaner Production says the process should be cleaned up. Resource Use brings in wider aspects of the process, and looks at Efficiency in Energy, and Water Control. The Waste Hierachy picks up with the end products andEnvironmental Management organises the whole process, while Environmental Conservation looks outside the work and improves biodiversity. Eco-Design considers natural impacts at the design stage.
