8.
Promote sustainable development for all, combining social
economic and environmental objectives.
-
All
organisations exist not just in the environment, but in
a wider social, political and economic world. Environmental
practice should demonstrate the need to balance economic
gains, social considerations and environmental improvements.
They are both inter-linked and necessary for each other.
Environmental practitioners need to take account of the
systems outside the workplace in order to see how they
and their organisation can work other organisations locally,
nationally and internationally to promote a world that
future generations can enjoy.
|
9.
Encourage collective responses and individual responsibility.
-
The
UN in Agenda 21 agreed that only by working in partnerships
can we hope to secure a future fit for all.. No individual
can hope to save the world, but every individual can realise
their contribution to environmental degradation and improved
environmental performance. Working together can achieve
much more. Reflecting on the roles and responsibilities
should lead to improved responses of candidates.
