Step 2
Check Co-operative Permits for use

UK (and EU) law requires that all pesticides should be 'approved' chemicals for use.
Check
your pesticides are approved for use in UK.

Co-operative Retail want to go beyond these requirements. The Co-operative Retail considers that this is an example of its Responsible Retailing". We decided to try and establish a methodology that could be scrutinised (see Introduction 2), yet didn’t need the same level of “proof” that government agencies may need in order to ”ban” substances. See 'hazard-trigger approach' and the way each pesticide was allocated to the banned/prohibited/red and monitored/amber lists.

The pesticides on the banned list are not to be used. Those on the prohibited list can only be used if you have a 'Derogation' Notice (similar to that used by PSD & Forest Stewardship Council) from Co-operative Retail. Those pesticides on the monitored list are given notice that we want to know where and how they are being used for future reference.

Check inventory of pesticides used on your site against the Co-operative Banned, Prohibited and Monitored Lists.
Note any pesticides that are on either of Prohibited/Monitored lists that you want to use.

You are going to put these pesticides in our database - go to Record Step 2.

Confirm your permits to use pesticides
