Activity 1.1 - MAKING TEA

Assessment Criteria
You will
· Identify how an everyday task has global impacts.
· Demonstrate basic awareness of Land management, Deforestation, Biodiversity, Freshwater, Sea & Coastal Areas, Atmosphere and Contamination.
   

Task

  1. When you make a cup of tea, you create impacts on the environment. Work out how making tea contributes, however minimally, to each of the main global impacts.

  2. Read through Unit 1 "Major Global Impacts"

  3. Consider how each of land management, deforestation, biodiversity, freshwater, sea and coastal water, atmosphere and contamination are each affected by making your cup of tea.
    Fill in the chart and indicate whether the effect is Positive (+) or Negative (-)

Allow 1 hours (maximum) to complete this activity: 1/2 - 3/4 hr to read through "Global Impacts", 10-15 mins to fill in chart
