Ahead of use of any manure, consideration should be given to its origin, history of storage, consistency of delivery of nutrients, likely contaminants and due diligence with reference to analysis and appropriate dosage.
Thus, the risks of any chemical ( e.g. heavy metal) or biological contamination should be fully appreciated before application, and type, rate, date of application, quantity of application and accounting of such, should be appropriate for use.
Account should be taken of leaching, and not causing odour problems.
