Variety Selection

When choosing a variety to be grown for Co-operative Retail consideration should be given to:

  • Resistance to pests and diseases.
  • Growth habit and physical structure.
  • Likely quality of harvested crop (in line with specifications).
  • Flavour, texture and colour.
  • Suitability for local growing conditions.
  • Yield.
