Guide to Unit 2 - 4

Activity 2.2

You are not expected to become an environmental legal expert in a couple of hours. Instead you will look at environmental law to help recognise what environmental impacts society considers are significant. You are expected to have an idea of the main environmental principles, the most important environmental laws, and where to go for more help

Task 1 requires you to look through the existing text on UK and European environmental law and choose any aspects of work to see what laws may apply to them. You are required to identify the laws, relating to land, air and water (and combined) that may relate to those aspects and whether there have been any prosecutions or warnings.

Task 2 recognises that you will need help now and in the future to keep abreast of environmental laws.

The most accessible web source is Netregs, created by the Environment Agency. You can investigate and collect various sources of information that you can use in the future to keep abreast of law changes.

Find the regulations that may apply to your workplace - go to Netregs, where you can also check out forthcoming legislation.
