Performance Standard 1.

Social and Environmental Assessment Aspects (also corresponds to ISO 14001 4.3.1)

Consider the potential social and environmental risks and impacts of the project/product/process. This will include effects on labour, health, and safety

The Assessment process will be based:

1) on current information, including an accurate project description, and

2 ) appropriate social and environmental baseline data.

Include the issues identified in Performance Standards 2 through 8, and those who will be affected.

Analyse risks and impacts in the area of influence. This area encompasses: (i) primary site(s) and related facilities (ii) associated facilities that whose goods or services are essential (iii) areas potentially impacted and other related developments (iv) areas potentially affected by impacts from unplanned but predictable developments
